Unwind end enjoy the peach of the bush - relax by the sunny pool under the shade of indigenous trees, walk down the valley with its spectacular birds and game sightings, enjoy a cooling drink in the friendly bar or immerse yourself in a well-deserved book in the library. Rissington is the perfect balance of unobstructive and personal service - everything you need and a little more than you expected. Rissington has only 14 bedrooms, twin and double bedded surrounded by 10 acres of extensive colourful gardens and offering comfortable spacious and airy accommodation. Notes for Today:
You will be met at the OR Tambo International Airport by a representative of the Car Rental Agency who will transfer you to the depot where you will collect your rental car. After finalizing the paperwork, depart from Johannesburg and head towards the picturesque province of Mpumalanga. Mpumalanga, which means "land of the rising sun" in the local SiSwati language, has it all -- from exhilarating wildlife, to secluded mountain retreats, ancient ruined cities, wild water sports, and some of South Africa's most diverse and vibrant African cultures. The province's year-round sunny weather, soaring peaks, steamy jungles and expansive waterways have also made it home to a bewildering array of adventure sport, from expeditions down the world's oldest caves, to taking flight at the continent's largest paragliding festival. Accommodation is booked at Rissington Inn (or similar) on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 3

Notes for Today:
After a hearty breakfast, depart the Lodge for a full day self guided sightseeing tour. The Panorama Tour abounds with breathtaking views from natural wonders along the eastern slopes of the escarpment. There is God's Window and the world's third largest canyon and biggest green canyon, the Blyde River Canyon. There are also the astonishing Bourke's Luck Potholes and three rondawels. The towns of Lydenburg and White River are gateways to the route, which takes visitors through the quaint towns of Pilgrim's Rest, a living museum dating back to the hey days of the gold rush, as well as Sabie, Graskop, Ohrigstad and Hazyview. The Panoramic Tour can easily be followed by using the maps provided in your travel papers package. Overnight in Rissington Inn (or similar) on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 4
Check in at Nkorho Bush Lodge, for 2 nights
1 Double for 2 nights on FB basis
Situated in the Sabi Sands Game Reserves and shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National park. An African jewel with diverse abundance of wildlife. As the day draws to a close you are lured to indulge in typical African cuisine around an open fire in a traditional Leadwood Boma. Stylish yet homely en-suite thatched chalets offer comfortability with a difference. Nkhoro Bush Lodge set in a comfortable environment offers a true safari experience "extraordinaire" whereupon guests become one with nature. Filled with vibrancy and a sense of freedom, spoil yourself with a bottle of wine from their comprehensive selection.



Notes for Today:
Bid a fond farewell to your Lodge and depart for the world reknowned Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, which shares a common unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park to the east. Two rivers, the Sabi and the Sand river, run through the Park sustaining the diverse fauna and flora of the area. The Game Reserve enjoys one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations of any area in Africa. Your accommodation for the next two nights is booked at Nkorho Bush Lodge (or similar) on a full board basis and inclusive of two game activities per day.

Day 5
Check in at Berg - En - Dal, for 1 night
1 Bungalow Double for 1 night on SC basis
Berg-en-dal is situated on the bank of the bank of the Matjulu Spruit with a view of the softly undulating hills of the east on the northern and southern sides dry riverbeds. Special care has been taken to preserve the natural vegetation in the camp. Accommodation includes: campsites, bungalows, family cottages and guest houses.



Notes for Today:
Enjoy your last early morning game drive in the Sabi Sands before returning to the Game Lodge for a hearty breakfast. Departing from the Sabi Sands travel towards the world famous Kruger National Park where you will spend one night en route to Mozambique. The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, this national park of nearly 2 million hectares, SANParks - Kruger National Park is unrivalled in the diversity of its life forms and a world leader in advanced environmental management techniques and policies. Truly the flagship of the South African national parks, Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. You will spend one night at Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp (or similar) on a self catering basis.

Day 6
Check in at Holiday Inn Maputo, for 1 night
1 De Luxe Room double for 1 night on B&B basis
The Holiday Inn Maputo is the only bech front hotel in the city of Maputo. Situated just 8km from the International Airport, facilities include a sea view restaurant and bar, 2 board room facilities as well as free internet access in all guest rooms. Just five km from the central business district, the Holiday Inn Maputo is an excellent business venure. Essential business and secreterial services are also available. The rich Latin heritage of this attractive city is echoed in the continental decor throughout the hotel which offers 150 well-appointed guest rooms, two luxury suites and six executive rooms. All front rooms have magnificent sea views. There are numerous restaurants & beach bars within easy walking distance of the hotal. It is possible to safely walk the beachfront and experience the "vibe" of Maputo and all the colorful and interesting curios on sale by local hawkers.



Notes for Today:
After an early start, enjoy a leisurely drive through the Kruger National Park keeping a look out for the vast variety of wildlife to be found in the area. Exiting the Park at one of its southern gates, you will drive towards the Mozambique border, just outside the town of Komatipoort. Once you have finalized the cross border formalities (see enclosed border crossing instructions) head off towards the capital city of Mozambique - Maputo. The colourful city has various places of interest to visit, including the Railway Station, Eiffel's House of Steel, the Natural History Museum and the fortress. Your accommodation has been booked at the Holiday Inn (or similar) where you will overnight on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 7
Check in at Flamingo Bay Water Lodge, for 3 nights
1 Water Chalets double for 3 nights on HB basis
Flamingo Bay Water Lodge is situated on stilts in the mangroves behind Barra Lodge. This eco-paradise is home to flocks of flamingos, tropical fish and the very rare dugong. This lodge is unique and the only one of it's kind in Africa. Flamingo Bay prides inself in having an undistturbed eco-setting that is peaceful and pristine and endevours to keep it that way. Flamingo Bay's water chalets are spacious and well appointed with balcony wide opeing sliding doors and air-conditioning. The chalets and furniture are constructed from beautiful local hardwoods from Mozambique. Sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling may be enjoyed directly from each chalet. Flamingo Bay Water Lodge is the ultimate honeymoon destination as the chalets are situated away from the main building, adding to the experience of tranqiulity and serenity and are connected by wooden walkways to the main building where golfcarts are available to transport guests. An elegant resaurant overlooks the inviting swimming pool and serves sumptious meals specialising in the local dishes of Mozambique including fresh prawns, fish, crab and calamari. Notes for Today:
Leave the hustle and bustle of Maputo city behind you and travel towards the province, and capital of the same name, Inhambane. In the early 15th century, Portugese explorers established a permanent trading post at Inhambane, making it one of the oldest European settlements in Southern Africa. Another of the reminders of its historic past is the 200 year old Cathedral of Our Lady of Conception - well worth a visit. The bay of Inhambane is normally filled with dhows - traditional sail boats used by locals - which can be rented for a wonderful wind powered cruise along the calm bay. Some of the very best scuba diving, with Manta Rays and Whale Sharks a regular sighting during dives, can be found just off the coast of Inhambane and the Dive Centre at Barra Lodge will be able to cater to all your diving needs. Your accommodation has been booked for three nights at Flamingo Bay Water Lodge (or similar), half board basis and is inclusive of select non motorized water sport activities.

Day 10
Check in at Casa Rex, for 1 night
1 Acacia room double for 1 night on B&B basis
The Casa Rex is overlooking the Bazaruto Archipelago, it offers magnificent views of the islands & the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Accommodation at CasaRex includes 4 Premium rooms, 8 Luxury rooms and one honeymoon suite. All the new luxury rooms have fans and air-conditioning, internet connections, en-suite bathrooms and private balconies with beautiful sea views. The beach is situated appoximately 100 meters from the lodge on the steep incline and is not really a swimming beach as it is close to the harbour. Vilanculas offers the guests wide range of activities to book such as deep-sea fishing, snorkelling, dicing, dhow tours, island trips and many more. Casa Rex has an excellent restaurant with full Ala Carte menu available for lunch and dinner offering a combination of cuisine and local imported wines. Refresh yourself in the swimming pool overlooking the harbour - the perfect way to end the day...or begin one.



Notes for Today:
After a scrumptious breakfast, depart the beaches of Inhambane and travel further north towards to the town of Vilanculos - gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago. Harbouring one of the last viable populations of the dugong along the entire East African coast, the Bazarutos command some of the most pristine coral reefs in the Indian Ocean. Amid the turquoise shallows surrounding each island, in the tidal inlets and shaded sea pastures opening into the deep Mozambique Channel, a wealth of marine life exists. A vast variety of water sport activities and trips to the islands can be enjoyed from Vilanculos. Your accommodation is booked for one night at Casa Rex (or similar) on bed and breakfast basis.

Enjoy your breakfast overlooking the Indian Ocean before choosing to either relax next to the swimmingpool for the remainder of they day or enjoy one of the various activities that can be arranged in the area. Shortly after lunch depart for the Vilanculos Airport, where you will drop off your rental vehicle before boarding the return flight back to Johannesburg, South Africa.
