Day 1

Pick up 4x4 SCE - full ins - 5-20 days from Kea Campers at 08:00. Check in at Blydepoort Aventura, for 2 nights 1 Camping (2 people) Self Catering for 2 nights on NA basis




Commanding excellent views of the Blyde River Canyon, this resort is situated on the famous Panorama Route and surrounded by the spectacular Drakensberg Mountains. It is the ideal base for hiking trails and scenic trips by car to renowned Mpumalanga tourist attractions.



Notes for Today:
You will be met at the OR Tambo International Airport by a representative from the rental agency who will escort you to the depot to collect your rental vehicle. After finalizing the paperwork depart Johannesburg and travel towards the Blyde River Canyon - the 3rd largest Canyon in the world. Your accommodation has been booked at the camp grounds of the Aventura Blydepoort for two nights on a self catering basis. The Resort makes the ideal base from which to explore the beauty of the surrounding countryside. Visit places of interest such as the Three Rondawels, the historic mining town of Pilgrims Rest, numerous waterfalls such as Bridal Veil, Lisbon Falls and Mac Mac Falls as well the picturesque towns of Graskop and Sabie.

Day 3

Check in at Satara Main Rest Camp, for 1 night
1 Camping Double for 1 night on SC basis

Satara is a busy camp, and not without reason. It is situated in an excellent game viewing area with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse. The camp is well wooded and the daytime bird-life is prolific. Satara is reguarded as one of the best game viewing areas in the park and is particularly noted for cats, with lion, leopard and cheetah being recorded regularly. Sarara, like most camps, has been artificially well wooded. The surrounding vegetation is knob thorn / marula savannah on basalt soils. A few kilometers west there is an intrusion of ecca shales soil which hosts very sweet grass often overgrazed. This intrusion also hosts Delagora thorn thickets. To the east the N'wanetsi region lies in Lebombo Mountain Bushveld on rhyolite soils. Tree euphorbia and red bushwillows are prevalent.



Notes for Today:
Depart the splendour of the canyons and head towards the world famous Kruger National Park. The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, this national park of nearly 2 million hectares, SANParks - Kruger National Park is unrivalled in the diversity of its life forms and a world leader in advanced environmental management techniques and policies. Truly the flagship of the South African national parks, Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. Spend the next two days traveling through Kruger and enjoying its natural beauty. Accommodation booked at Satara and Letaba Rest Camp's camp sites (or similar) on a self catering basis.

Day 4

Check in at Letaba Rest Camp, for 1 night
1 Camping (2 people) for 1 night on SC basis

The idylic Letaba main rest camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the world renowned Kruger National Park. The name means "river of sand" and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld and remains a firm favourite with visitors. At night the stars overlook a symphony of sounds. Owls, nightjars, frogs, fruit bats, crickets and cicades all vie to be heard, until the lion roars, then all are silent. Accommodation includes campsites, safari tents, bungalows, guest cottage and guest houses: Melville. Fish Eagle both of which are fully equipped with en-suite bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, dining room and television.



Day 5

Check in at Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, for 1 night
1 Camping (2 people) - Campismo Albufeira for 1 night on SC basis

The Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park will include South Africa's world-famous Kruger National Park with its extraordinary abundance of wildlife, established infrustructure and tourism-base, as well as the stunning geological splendor of Gonarezhou in Zimbabwe. Mozambique's Limpopo National Park is a pristine wildlife area which has been open to visitors since 2005. Campismo Albufeira was opened late 2007 and is situated close to the Massingir Entrance Gate, as well as the Massingir Dam wall. It consists of four chalets or reed and canvas, each with a small veranda and braai area. The chalets are fully equipped and can house two people and each has an en-suite WC and kitchenette. Campismo Albufeira also has a camping terrain with its own kitchen and abulation block as well as space for 10 tents.



Notes for Today:
Break up camp and travel towards the Giriyondo Border post. This is a relatively quiet boder post inside the Park and you should be able to cross through with little delay. Please note that entrance fees, vehicle fees and all custom, passport and visa related costs are for your own account and should be settled directly at the Gate. Once you have finalized the border procedures travel along to the Campismo Albufeira camp site, approximatey 70 km from the border post, where your accommodation has been booked for one night on a self catering basis.

Day 6

Check in at Casa Lisa, for 1 night
1 CAMPING for 1 night on SC basis

Casa Lisa is set on a farm just 1km in from the main road which is not visible so you are guaranteed a restful sleep before departing the next day. The lodge has a homely atmosphere and the staff go out of their way to ensure that guests have a comfortable stay. Meals are served in the on site restaurant and there is also a well stocked bar. Accommodation is varied depending on the size of the group and their requirements with a choice of en-suite roooms or those with communal facilities. All rooms have mosquito nets, and all bathrooms have hot water and flush toilets. Camping is also available and an open air thatched lapa is provided for campers. Each site accommodates a maximum of 4 people. Clean toilets and showers are available.



Notes for Today:
Depart the Transfrontier Park and travel towards to the small town of Marracuene, situated approximately 50 km from Maputo. Accommodation is booked for one night at the camp site at Casa Lisa on a self catering basis. Casa Lisa is the ideal stop over en route to the beaches of Inhambane and a base from which to explore the beaches of Macaneta.

Day 7

Check in at Guinjata Resort, for 3 nights
1 CAMPING Baraca with water + electricity for 3 nights on NA basis

The province of Inhambane (the land of good people) is where Guinjata Resort is situated. Guinjata Resort, the poineer to one of the world's top 10 dive sites, Manta Reef, was discovered in 1995. With crystal clear waters, flourishing coral reefs and a host of world class facilities, this is one of the Indian Ocean coastline's best kept secrets. Guinjata Resort is approximately 550km north of Maputo and 25km south of the town of Inhambane on the coast. The road leading to the Resort is a dirt road and only accessible with a 2x4 with a difflock or a 4x4 vehicle. A wide range of accommodation is available from simple yet comfortable 2-8 bed self-contained chalets (with fully equipped kitchens with ovens,fridges etc), to sheltered camping baracas. Full board, fly-in and self-drive options and conference facilities are available. All chalets are built on the dune overlooking the bay and against the hill, protecting them from the winds. The beach is situated 50 meters from the chalets and all chalets have oceanview and verandahs. The beach restaurant with an ala carta menu and take-aways operates all year round. For sports enthusiasts the sports bar has satelite TV for sporting events. A quick shop with essential items and curios is situated on the premises. Guinjata Resort features a fully equipped and certified PADI instruction facility, complete with a training pool for scuba diving only. Guinjata specialises in fishing-related activities, from big-game, deep-sea fishing to fly-fishing. An excellent snorkel reef and Pandane Reef is situated close to the beach and is good for beginners.



Notes for Today:
Depart from Casa Lisa and travel northwards towards the town of Inhambane. In the early 15th century, Portugese explorers established a permanent trading post at Inhambane, making it one of the oldest European settlements in Southern Africa. Another of the reminders of its historic past is the 200 year old Cathedral of Our Lady of Conception - well worth a visit. The bay of Inhambane is normally filled with dhows - traditional sail boats used by locals - which can be rented for a wonderful wind powered cruise along the calm bay. Travel onwards to Guinjata Bay which is a great destination for fishing, diving and boating in Inhambane. Accommodation is booked for three nights at the camp site of Guinjata Bay (or similar) on a self catering basis.

Day 10

Check in at Casa Rex, for 3 nights
1 Premium double for 3 nights on B&B basis
The Casa Rex is overlooking the Bazaruto Archipelago, it offers magnificent views of the islands & the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Accommodation at CasaRex includes 4 Premium rooms, 8 Luxury rooms and one honeymoon suite. All the new luxury rooms have fans and air-conditioning, internet connections, en-suite bathrooms and private balconies with beautiful sea views. The beach is situated appoximately 100 meters from the lodge on the steep incline and is not really a swimming beach as it is close to the harbour. Vilanculas offers the guests wide range of activities to book such as deep-sea fishing, snorkelling, dicing, dhow tours, island trips and many more. Casa Rex has an excellent restaurant with full Ala Carte menu available for lunch and dinner offering a combination of cuisine and local imported wines. Refresh yourself in the swimming pool overlooking the harbour - the perfect way to end the day...or begin one.



Day 13

Check in at Praia Do Sol, for 1 night
1 Studio double for 1 night on DBB basis

Praia Do Sol Beach Resort is situated near the quaint village of Bilene which is one of Mozambique's favourite holiday destinations. Situated alongside a beach lagoon 27km long, this quaint village has a hotel, motel, camping grounds, petrol station, post office and a few bars, restaurants and clubs. The lagoon is an ideal family spot with long, bright stretches of sand for beach games and shallow calm water for safe swimming. The mouth of the lagoon, usually blocked by a sand bank, is best reached by boat. Praia Do Sol Beach Resort offers accommodation in chalets made of timber and natural materials, these chalets are surrounded by natural vegetation, ideally situated near the white sands of the San Martin lagoon. All chalets have beds, mosquito nets, coils and a private verandah. The restaurant and bar are situated on the lagoon beach. Breakfast and dinner are offered as part of the accommodation package. Jet-skis, water skiing, wind surfers and paddle boats are available for hire. The fishing is also very good. The resort is about 2km(1.2 miles) outsite the village of Bilene and also accessible with any vehicle.



Notes for Today:
Enjoy your last breakfast overlook the Bazaruto Archipelago before traveling back south along the coast of Mozambique. The town of Bilene is a popular holiday destination for locals due to its proximity to Maputo. The town is neat, clean and offers a range of accommodation, restaurants and nightlife to the visitor. Accommodation is booked for one night a Praia do Sol on a half board basis.

Day 14

Check in at Ponta Malongane, for 2 nights
1 CAMPING for 2 nights on NA basis

Parque de Malongane, also known as Ponta Malongane is one of the premium dive centres and adventure holiday resorts in Mozambique. Go for a boat cruise, snorkel with the dolphins and whale sharks, or enjoy a vehicle inland drive. The widest range of activities will the keep the adventurer thrilled and the peacefulness is sure to relax and rejuvinate any tired, overstressed body, mind & soul. Our campsites in Southern Mozambique are spread along the resort and are all well shaded by trees and close to the beach. The guests have a choice to enjoy their eat out either inside or in the fresh air outside. Established in 1994, cooking roots are drawn from Portuguese and South African cousins, fused with the best products available. The menu offers everything from breakfasts, starters, salads, delicious "slap" chips, soups, seafood and meat dishes accompanied by the freshly baked Portuguese bread.



Notes for Today:
Depart from the town of Bilene and travel further towards the southern end of Mozambique. Another of the Mozambique coast's natural geographical beacons for enthuisiastic divers, Ponta Malongane marks the position of rich coral reefs. Here a small unprotected bay nurtures a coral wonderland. Enjoy the next two days exploring the rugged beauty of the Parque de Malongane and the rich diversity of the coral reefs. Accommodation is booked for two nights in the camp site at Parque de Malongane Holiday Resort on a self catering basis.

Day 16

Check in at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, for 2 nights
1 Mlil-Camping for 2 nights on SC basis

Milwane, Swaziland's poineer conservation area is a beautiful secluded sanctuary situated in Swaziland's "Valley of Heaven", the Ezulwini Valley in between Mbabane and Manzini means Little Fire, being derrived from the numerious fires started by lightning strikes on the Milwane Hill. Many a colourful tale can be told about the Reilly Family with special relevance to the early poineer Mickey Reilly whose family still manages and lives on the Sanctuary.



Notes for Today:
Today you wil bid a fond farewell to Mozambique as you exit the country through the Kosi Bay border post - a mere 15 km from Ponta Molongane. Travel onwards towards to small landlocked country of Swaziland and the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary within. Mlilwane, Swaziland's pioneer conservation area, is a beautiful, secluded sanctuary situated in Swaziland's "Valley of Heaven", the Ezulwini Valley, between Mbabane and Manzini. With 24 hour acess to the Sanctuary, guests are free to enjoy the neighbouring tourist hubs of Ezulwini and Malkerns, with their many unique attractions and craft shops. From the western boundary, the huge Usutu Forest provides a dramatic backdrop stretching into the distant hills. Accommodation is booked for two nights at the camp site at Mlilwane on a self catering basis.

Day 18

Drop off 4x4 SCE - full ins - 5-20 days to Kea Campers at 15:00.

Notes for Today:
Today you will end your journey as you return back to Johannesburg - South Africa - where you will drop off your rental vehicle before being transferred back to the OR Tambo International Airport.
