Deception Valley Lodge

Situated near the centre of Botswana, about 120 km south of Maun, adjoining the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and not far from the famous Okavango swamps, lies Deception Valley. The lodge provides a rare type of bush experience, drawing the visitor into the whole atmosphere of this wild area. Accommodation consists of five private units, each with a bedroom for two, a lounge and a Victorian style bathroom with an outside shower. Each unit has a deck where you can sit and gaze at the vastness of the Kalahari bush, stretching for miles in front of you. The pool and sundeck provide for relaxation and cooling down in the midday hours or hot evenings. The chefs provide a set menu to high international standards, with fare that will usually include venison. Wildlife in the area is plentiful ranging from gemsbok, kudu, springbok to cheetah, leopard, the evasive brown hyena and the inquisitive meerkat.
