Jack's Camp, the only desert camp in the Kalahari, faces the huge horizons of the Makgadikgadi National Park evoking the original East African Safari. A have of five star luxury within the harsh, but mesmerising environment of the Kalahari Desert. Large classically proportioned tents are positioned for maximum privacy and perfect views amongst glades of palms and under shady acacias. Each features an en suite open air bathroom with bucket showers suspended in the palms, and flush toilets. Traditionally styled original '40's equipment...Persian carpets, bone handled silver, canvas baths, damask tablecloths and chambray sheets to ensure extraordinary comfortable stay. Food is of a high standard, fresh and innovative with all the baking done on the coals daily. Jack's Camp provide a comprehensive Desert experience. Qualified Zoologists/Biologists emphasize the fascinating adaptations of unique desert wildlife to the area on game walks and game drives. Venture into the impenetrable salt pans on 4 WD quad bikes or horseback to explore remote archaeological sites. In the wet season, the pans fill with water forming one of the most important wetland sites in Africa, attracting huge flocks of flamingo and the annual zebra.
