Camp Fig Tree
Camp Fig Tree is a remote, private lodge set on top of
the stunning Zuurberg mountain range. Resting between the 12000 ha Riverbend
Conservancy on the southern boundary and the Addo Elephant National park to
the north, the camp boasts 270-degree views over the Afro mountain valleys
falling away on all sides. Camp Figtree has been designed around its original
1920's traditional colonial building style. The lounge, sitting room and
dining room are intoxicatingly evocative of the romantic colonial are. Each
room, with bathroom en suite, is individually decorated with its own veranda
and private views. The refreshments of this long lost period mingle with the
rugged beauty of the African bushveld. The camp's public areas include a
swimming pool with slatted deck overlooking the valley falling off sharply
to the side.
From an open Land Rover you are likely to see wildlife such as Kudu, Bushbuck,
Leopard, Caracal and Jackal. Additionally, a trip to the neighbouring Addo
National park is only 10min away.
