Camp Okuti offers a variety of outings, both by boat and by vehicle. Our surroundings are, without doubt, in one of the most uniquegame and birding areas existing in Africa today. The heronries on Gadikwe and Kgobega lagoons are unique to this area, andhave been featured by famous ornithologist Ken Newman in his video - "Okavango Magic". Birds listed in the South African "Red DataBook" indicate 103 species endangered, forty of which are common in our area!

Our primary goal is to provide our guests with the opportunity to escape the crowded realm of the tourists and experience the "Real Africa" at its best.

Okuti Safaris are conducted in open safari vehicles inside Moremi Game Reserve where all of Africa's larger mammalscan be found, often in large herds. Elephants and buffalo are regularly sighted, as are lions and leopards.

Alternatively, you may choose to venture upstream on a motorboat safari towards the upper Delta where the fish eagle, with its piercing cry, is common and there is a good prospect of seeing and photographing its dramatic swoop to pluck its prey from the water. Hippos and crocodiles can regularly be seen from the motorboat.

One of the most enchanting features of an Okuti motorboat safari is the pause in the heat of the day to picnic in therestful shade of the great riverine trees. There, you can truly savour the sounds and scents of the Delta all around.

Back at camp, you are always attended by our friendly and efficient staff, who serve you sundowners and light snacks. Our safari chef prepares a variety of delicous "African" dishes befitting an establishment of this exclusivity - including fresh bread baked daily.

Relax by the fragrant wood campfire after dinner, or enjoy liqueurs in our sunken lounge adjoining the charming, candle-lit dining room. Listen to the sounds of the night - the splash of the hippo, the roar of the lion, and the cry of hyaena and jackal.
