Hobatere Lodge
Hobatere Lodge, bordering on western Etosha, lies in a concession
area that has been privately run by Steve and Louise Braine for the past
12 years. The surrounding wilderness of 32 000 ha harbours elephant,
lion, cheetah, leopard, spotted and brown hyaena, gemsbok, eland, giraffe,
kudu, springbok, Hartmann's zebra, aardvark, aardwolf, Cape fox and
bat-eared fox. The lodge has 12 thatched rooms and bungalows nestled
between large mopane trees, a well-stocked bar, curio shop and a lounge
with small library. Home-cooked buffet meals are served on a veranda
overlooking a garden of indigenous plants, or in a boma under
the stars.
