Résidence Klein Oliphants Hoek
Located in a quiet position in the heart of the historic
winelands village of Franschhoek, Résidence Klein Oliphants Hoek is the perfect
place to relax after a day of wine tasting, haute cuisine, mountain hiking or
browsing in antique shops and art galleries in the village.
Get cosy in one of our eight rooms, enjoy sunset on the wide verandah with its
spectacular mountain views, make yourself at home in front of a large open fire
in the comfortable, historic Mission Hall, or head for Bouillabaisse - Camil &
Ingrid's trendy Champagne&Oyster bar and seafood deli on Franschhoek's main
road - five minutes' walk from the guesthouse.
Résidence Klein Oliphants Hoek was founded in 1999, and is owned and run by
Ingrid and Camil Haas. Ingrid and Camil travelled the world and its catering
industry for 20 years, and settled down in Franschhoek in 1999. Camil and Ingrid
won several awards, including the Eat Out Best New Restaurant and the Blazon of
the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
At Klein Oliphants Hoek, history and a sophisticated modern life-style go hand
in hand: the guesthouse is built in a renovated mission post, and a lot of the
antique and old-time chic has been kept. At the same time, the best of modern
leasure tourism, including a warm, personalised and outstanding service, and an
overall sense of well-being and chill-out, are central to the unique experience
of staying at Klein Oliphants Hoek.
There are eight en suite rooms decorated in both classic and contemporary
styles. For those looking for something special there are suites with private
pools and secluded courtyards leading to scented gardens, and even one room with
a rooftop Jacuzzi.
