12 Day SA, Vic Falls & Chobe

Day 1
On arrival in Johannesburg International Airport you check in for your flight to Hoedspruit. On arrival in Hoedspruit Airport you are met and transferred to Thornybush Game Reserve and Thornybush Main Lodge where you stay for the next three nights.

Thornybush Game Lodge

Day 4
This morning you are collected from your lodge for your transfer to Hoedspruit Airport where you check in for your flight to Cape Town. On arrival in Cape Town International airport you are met and transferred to the Commodore Hotel where you stay for the next four nights.

The Commodore Hotel
The Commodore Hotel is situated right next to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and only 5 km from the Table Mountain. It is ideally situated for shopping, sightseeing, swimming or just relaxing at and enjoying one of it's many amenities and services, like: Swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna or make use of the nearby city shuttle service. All the rooms have and suites have private bathrooms with shower and toilet, hair dryers, radios, colour TV, air conditioning, direct dialling phones, tea and coffee making facilities and electric razor plug.

Day 5
This morning you are collected from your hotel for your scheduled full day Winelands tour.

Winelands Tour
Depart on a full day tour of the Cape Winelands. In 1679, Stellenbosch was founded. Home to many fine examples of Cape Dutch architecture, the town is famous for is's university and the oak trees that line it's quant streets. The tour visits a winery in this area for a cellar tour and wine tasting before taking an orientation tour of the town. The tour continues to the beautiful Franschhoek valley to visit Boschendal manor house, the celebrated historical estate. Lunch at own expense is enjoyed at one of the many good restaurants of the area. After lunch the tour takes in Paarl, "the pearl of the cape" and another wine tasting before returning to Cape Town.

Day 6
This morning you are collected from your hotel for your scheduled full day Peninsula tour.

Peninsula Tour
Depart on a full day Cape Peninsula tour. Depart for the Cape of Good Hope along one of South Africa' most scenic routes. We will drive through Sea Point, visit Hout Bay. Continue through Constantia Nek to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Kirstenbosch was established as a centre for the preservation and study of the indigenous flora of Southern Africa. All year round one can enjoy glorious living displays of wild flowers and the magnificent collection of Cycads, silver trees and other shrubs, plants and trees. Enjoy lunch in Kalk Bay (at own account). Then travel through the historic naval based town of Simon's Town, continuing onto Cape Point where two marine ecosystems and oceans are said to meet. Return to Cape Town via Ou Kaapse Weg.

Day 7
This morning you are collected from your hotel for your scheduled half day city and Table Mountain tour.

City Tour
Enjoy a half day Cape Town City tour including Table Mountain. This tour of the "mother city" includes visits to the SA Museum, the Malay quarter and the harbour. Depart from the hotel and drive past the cultural history museum, st George's Cathedral, the company gardens and the south African museum to the tower cableway station for the ascent of Table Mountain. If the weather conditions are unfavourable for a cable car ride, we will enjoy a scenic drive up signal hill to view the panorama of the city below. We return to the city via Tamboerskloof and the Malay quarter passing the castle en route to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront. After a brief orientation tour. We return to the hotel. ***Excluding Table Mountain tickets.

Day 8
This morning you are collected from your hotel for your transfer to Cape Town Airport where you check in for your flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival in Victoria Falls you are met and transferred to the Victoria Falls Hotel where you stay for the next two nights.

Victoria Falls Hotel
This famous grand, Edwardian style hotel is set in acres of lush lawns and gardens overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge and gorges. Only a few minutes walk from the town centre and five minutes away from the Falls along the hotels private pathways. 141 are conditioned rooms and suites. Floodlit tennis courts, swimming pool, billiard room, chapel, library, hair salon, children's playground, curio and clothing shop, conference facilities, restaurants and bars make up the facilities.

Day 9
This morning you are collected from your hotel for your morning tour of the falls and traditional village.

Tour of falls and traditional village
Here you will view the spectacular Devil's Cataract, Main Falls as well as the Horseshoe Falls. At the village you will have the opportunity to purchase some of Zimbabwe's arts and crafts.

In the afternoon you are collected for a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River including drinks (beer and wine) and light snacks.

Day 10
This morning you are collected from your hotel and transferred to Chobe National Park and Chobe Game Lodge where you stay for the next two nights. Spend the day at leisure before departing on an evening game drive by spotlight.

Chobe Game Lodge
This is one of Botswana's most exclusive safari resorts. Situated in the remote and unspoiled northern extremity of the Park and approximately 90 kilometres west of Victoria Falls, the lodge offers every luxury and comfort for your sojourn in the wilds. The architecture is Moorish and graceful - high arches, barrel-vault ceilings and tiled floors create an atmosphere of spaciousness and tranquillity. All 48 rooms are tastefully furnished and cooled by overhead punkah-punkah fans. All rooms overlook the perennial Chobe River and adjacent Caprivi flood plains. Facilities within the lodge include a well stocked curio shop, wildlife reference library and stylishly decorated Linyanti bar and lounge area. Game drive are conducted in open four-wheel drive vehicles. The Chobe flood plain is renowned for its concentration of buffalo and elephant, and the late afternoon in particular provides spectacular viewing. A sunset cruise down the Chobe River is an experience that will always linger.

This morning you are collected from your lodge for your road transfer back to Victoria Falls airport where you check in for your flight.
