Lalibela Game Reserve

Lalibela, the private game reserve found in the Eastern Cape which means it is not only malaria free, but spans 4 ecosystems (valley bushveld, grassland, fynbos and riverine forest), resulting in a breath-taking diversity of plants, animals and birds.
Early morning and sunset game drives in an open vehicle with an experienced game ranger bring you face to face with the Big Five as well as a multitude of game species, ranging from mighty elephant, rhino and buffalo to tiny blue duiker and rock hyrax. Lalibela is also home to the majestic cheetah, hippo, giraffe, zebra, warthog, brown hyena and numerous species of antelope such as eland, kudu, bushbuck and wildebeest.

Lentaba Lodge

The "lodge on the hillside" sleeps 16 people in eight individual chalets. The secluded thatched chalets are placed where magnificent indigenous gardens merge into the surrounding bush. Each en-suite unit has a private viewing deck to make the most of the magnificent views over the valley bushveld and an en-suite bathroom.
The outdoor dining "boma" holds a commanding view of a waterhole, which is spotlight after dark for night game viewing.

Mark's Camp

This lodge sleeps 8 people in four individual chalets. The camp can be booked as a unit, making it particularly suitable for groups with young children.

Each lodge also boasts a large lounge, outdoor dining "boma", as well as indoor dining room for the cold winters of the Eastern Cape, a viewing deck and a sunny swimming pool where one can spend a lazy afternoon.
Dining at Lalibela is unforgettable, from brunch or high tea with pecan nut tarts and crispy lemon meringues to dinner of a spectacular African buffet.

Lalibela offers a day programme which is ideal for nature lovers whose tight schedule does not allow for an overnight stay at one of the lodges. Guests are welcomed with tea and coffee on arrival and are treated to a grand safari-cuisine lunch at the day centre and then they are taken by an experienced ranger on a 3-hour game drive in an open landrover, traversing the reserve where wildlife roams in profusion and diversity. Lalibela also offers an evening safari starting with a 3-hour game drive and ending with an African feast in the Fig Tree Boma (weather permitting).
