Madikwe River Lodge
Situated in the Madikwe Game Reserve, on the border of
Botswana, 3½ hours drive from Gauteng and a mere 45 minutes by aircraft. This
lodge intimately positioned on the banks of the Marico River, in the North West
province, boasts the 2nd largest elephant population in South Africa, and is
home to the Big Five. Madikwe River Lodge is a malaria free resort. The Lodge
is :
- 3½ hours from Johannesburg
- 1 hour from Gaberone
- From Abjatarskop gate the road is tarred to the main gate
- The Lodge is 40km from the main gate, which runs through the Reserve
- There is 85km of gravel road from Derdepoort gate to the main gate. Conditions of road varies, depending on weather
- The Lodge is 5km from the main gate and the condition of this road also varies, depending on weather.

- All rooms overlook the Marico River.
- All rooms are split level, thatched chalets.
- 9 Standard Twin Rooms.
- 3 Standard Double Rooms (king-size beds).
- 3 Family Rooms (accommodates 2 adults and 2 children).
- 1 Luxury Room.
- Only the family rooms can accommodate a third person.
- Cots are available on request.
