Maji Moto

Small and exclusive, Maji Moto nestles in the shade of spreading acacia trees on the shores of Lake Manyara.

Panoramic views across the waters encompass thousands of pelicans, flamingoes and other wading birds, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Rift Valley.

Once the hunting ground of Hemingway and other adventurers, Maji Moto takes its name from the nearby hot springs and comprises ten spacious tents, a central dining area and bar.

Fine cuisine and personalised service are an integral part of the "grand Safari" ambience, with 4x4 vehicles setting out to explore the scenic wilderness beyond.

Lying in a shallow depression at the base of the Rift Valley, the scenic Lake Manyara National Park is impressive in its variety of habitats and species.

Most famous for its tree-climbing lions which drape themselves over branches of umbrella- shaped thorn trees to catch cool breezes, the reserve boasts over 40 species of large mammals and some 380 birds.
