Mantenga Nature Reserve is situated in the Ezulwini Valley between the Towering peaks of Execution Rock and Sheba’s Breasts. This 725 hectare nature reserve is 5minutes from the main road hidden in a valley away from the hustle and bustle. The Nature Reserve was proclaimed in 1991, forms the northern boundary for Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary and has the striking Mantenga waterfall’s.

Within the nature Reserve there is an authentic Cultural Homestead with people , goats , cows and chickens all there for you to participate in a real cultural experience. Should you wish to stay in the homestead and participate in the goings on just ask and it will be organised . Come stay in the beehives and be part of what’s going on. For the glitz and glamour from Tuesday to Sundays we have two daily shows of “Simunye” (We are One) an enthralling show showing different aspects of cultural life through good African song and dance. These shows are at 11:15 and 3:15

With the Lusushwana River meandering through the reserve there are twenty luxury tents situated along the banks or overlooking the falls. The tents are all en-suite with tea and coffee making facilities. Come and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of life in the bush and possiblely get woken up in the morning by the bark of baboons on the other side of the river.

There is a full al la carte restaurant on site (The Village Café) open from 7am to late . With a mixture of traditional to western dishes there something for every one . With a big deck out the front sundowners are a must and for the cooler evening a big log fire to keep you all cosy.

For the energetic there are walks and hikes from climbing Sheba’s Breast (1.7km walk with a 350m elevation ,a good 2hours ) to just walking along the riverbank and enjoying the river birds . For the warmer days take a swim in the waterfall(at your own risk) or catch a small mouth yellow fish by fly fishing . For the enthusiastic Twitcher a guide can be organized and possiblely (when in season) a good look at a mating pair of bald ibis.

Come and explore and learn about real Swazi life and be surprised at what you learn.
