Samburu National Reserve is known for wildlife species not found
in any other Kenyan parks. The reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra,
gerenuk and beisa oryx are exclusive to Samburu. lion, cheetah and
leopards can also be seen here. There is no shortage of birdlife
with an abundance of over 400 species. Early morning game drives
start at 6.30 am followed by a choice of a delicious bush breakfast
or English breakfast back at the camp.
The late afternoon drives my end up with a sun downer, drinking
cocktails from a vantage view point while watching the colourful
African sunset. The day can be spent by the swimming pool or on an
escorted camel safari across the river. There is safe river
rafting f (seasonal), and the nature bird walks provide a fascinating
past time. Buffet luncheons and candlelight dinners are served on an
elevated deck amidst the high shade trees.
