Shalati Bush Lodge
Shalati Bush Camp is unique, offering an intimate and truly
memorable bush and wildlife experience combined with the culture of local
Shangaan population, of Africa and its people today. Uniquely located on the
border of Manyaleti Game Reserve: "place of the stars", between Kruger National
Park, Timbavati and the Sabi Sand Reserve. There is direct access to 25000
hectares of prime game reserve. The Kruger National Park legend is on the
doorstep: aside for the over 300 bird species that inhabit the area, lion,
elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard roam in perfect natural surroundings.
Shalati accommodates a maximum of 36 guests in its 18 huts built according to
the traditional Shangaan style with mosquito nets lending a regal tone and the
clay, wood and thatch bring back the feeling of the African bush. On suite
bathrooms are beautifully thatched and have reed walls. Paraffin lamps add to
the true bush experience. Each hut has its own personal "chaperone" according
to the Shangaan tradition.
A traditional Boma is the venue for delectable evening meals around an open
fire. Delicious meals are prepared in the camp's bush kitchen, private dinner
settings for the romantic: vintage South African wines and champagne to order.
Superb picnic lunches. Hearty bush breakfasts are served. You can take your own
car and do game drive into the Kruger National Park or the Manyeleti Reserve or
you can book game drives at Shalati.
