Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge

Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge is situated at the northern edge of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, in the foothills of the Hubib Mountains. NamibRand is a vast reserve spanningover 200 000 hectares of pristine Namib Desert, reclaimed by conservation efforts to become the largest private nature reserve in Southern Africa.

Walkway

The Namib is the worlds oldest desert. It is also known as a "living desert" for its intruing array of desert-adapted fauna and flora. Set at the foot of ancient mountains, Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge offers a highly sofisticated desert experience. Only 10 stone and glass desert villas are scattered along the edge of the mountains overlooking the desert sea, each offering absolute privacy. Mornings and evenings, guests are guided through the fascinating desert on walks, in open vehicles, riding automatic four-wheel ATV motorcycles, or even from the vantage of a hot-air balloon. Excursions are guided as far afield as the famous Sossuvlei dunes - the highest in the world. The lodge features a sophisticated observatory where guests are entertained by field guides sharing their knowledge of the cosmos.
